Grind, Grind, Grind

I finally (a couple months late) bundled up all my 2000 financial papers and stored them in their box, to be ignored for five years or so. Part of the task includes destroying another year's worth of financial records.

So 1994 is no longer. I destroyed checks for the rent ($425) for a room in a house in the Castro. I destroyed a check with "I Love You" in the memo to my old boyfriend. I destroyed Check #666 (to Walgreens, go figure.) I destroyed Versateller reciepts for the last trip to Santa Barbara I ever made. And I destroyed a year's worth of paystubs from Pasqua Coffee (since bought by an evil Seattle Coffee Company.)

Interesting to see the changes that six years can bring.

More random linky stuff.

Spin Casey's Head!

A Page from Martha Stewart's Daily Calendar! (Link Via David Gagne.)

And a reminder: this week is National TV Turn Off Week. I'm sure you can find something else to do.

Big Gay Music here today. I've so far annoyed the roommate with Pet Shop Boys, Jimmy Somersville, betty, even Tori Amos is in on the act.. And they're all in my MP3 playlist. On Random. I think I might be a homosexual. Shh, don't tell.

Sickdays are not PTO.

I'm jealous of PeeKay's and the roommate's impending time off. They both sound potentially transforming, hopefully in wonderful ways for both of them.

I have a bunch of Paid Time accumulated, myself...And while I'm still anticipating a big trip in September, isn't it time for me to take a little vacation yet? How about for you?

In the Order of No Particular

Random thoughts that need to go somewhere:

- How can I use the spoonerism "You are the linkest week, goodbye" before it's out-of-date and cliché? Whoops, too late.

- Employee reviews blow with braces. Thankfully I "have" some cool "employees". (Wierd to think of your friends as your employees, too. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets to do this now.

- I am so done with coughing. My cough laughs at cough syrup. Cough drops run and hide at the sound of my cough.

You're soaking in it!

My boss and another VP with whom I'm working on a project were in my office around 4:30. My boss was leaning across my desk, looking at the project on screen. Suddenly she stopped. "Does it smell like French Fries in here?"

That's when the other VP pointed out that she was, in fact, leaning over the top of my lunch. Thankfully I was just about done with it anyway....

No, it's not "Heebie-Jeebies," dear

Hilly Kristal, owner and founder of CBGB: "At that first gig at CBGB, they were the most untogether group I'd ever heard. They kept starting and stopping-equipment breaking down- and yelling at each other. They were a mess."

There's still a little punk in my heart. Joey Ramone, you'll be missed.

I think a nap would do me a world of good....

Either it's the burritos, the lack of sufficient levels of coffee, or the new cough medicine, but maybe I'll take my boss up on her offer for me to go home a little early today and "take a nap before turning on the computer again."

[thud!]

You really ought to see 'em.

I finally went to the doctor and got medication. I finally met Dr. Do — who's name always reminded me of Mr. Do, so I expected he was going to cure me with a giant apple to the head — but I think from here on out I need to plan to go to his afternoon clinic.   (See More)
