What do you want me to do, learn to stutter?

"By Gad, sir, you are a character. There's never any telling what you'll say or do next, except that it's bound to be something astonishing!"

If only I weren't so tired I'd accompany the Boyfriend to see The Maltese Falcon at the Paramount Theater tonight. I can hardly imagine a better setting for a classic Noir film than that beautiful Art Deco theater. Starts at 8, if you're still looking for something to do tonight.

I'm a little worn out from this past week's shenanigans. If I intend to get any writing done I think I'd be better served with my slippers and a big bowl of soba noodle soup. But I'm definitely going to be there next month when the Paramount shows The Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup". Hail Freedonia!

Last Year's Playlist.

I've returned from Baltimore for New Year's and am a little under the weather. I'll write about the trip—indeed about anything of substance, for that matter—as soon as I can.

Every year the Roommate and I pick a song for the New Year. I've only just now started thinking about it I'm not sure what I want it to be for this year. But I've worked out this instead...my month by month songlist for the year 2001. I don't know if there's a deeper meaning in it than that, but here it is:

January: "You're So Vain" Carly Simon
February: "Am I Loud Enough" Bis
March: "Cities In Dust" Siouxsie And The Banshees
April: "Beats at the Office" Bis
May: "Glamour and Pain" Joe Jackson
June: "Tear Me Down" Hedwig and the Angry Inch
July: "Frustration" Soft Cell
August: "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" Daft Punk
September: "Statue of Liberty" Laurie Anderson
October: "Not Ready Yet" the eels
November: "Unison" Bjork
December: "Man It's So Loud In Here" They Might Be Giants
